Career Pathway in Canada

Education in Canada

Education Standard

The Canadian degree or diploma is instantly recognized around the world as being of the highest standards. A Canadian degree, diploma or certificate is globally recognized as being equivalent to those obtained from the United States or Commonwealth countries. In Canada, postsecondary education is the responsibility of provincial and territorial governments, and in each province and territory there are laws, policies, and procedures that govern the operation of postsecondary institutions. Each jurisdiction has its own quality assurance mechanisms that are used in combination to ensure quality in the country's wide range of postsecondary institutions.

Cultural Diversity

With almost all of the world’s ethnic groups represented in Canada, it’s hard not to find ethnic foods and recreation activities associated with specific cultures. There are a number of ethnic clubs and associations from different ethnic origin that international students can join. Nowadays Canada boasts the highest percentage of foreign-born citizens than any other G8 country. In 2012, Canada welcomed a record number of immigrants for its seventh consecutive year, with 257,515 newcomers entering the country.

Life in Canada

The United Nations ranked Canada as one of the best places to live in the world, based upon Canada's achievements in terms of educational attainment, life expectancy, national income and general quality of life. It also includes Canada's abundance of fresh water, comfortable population density, low incidence of violent crime and a health care system that is model for the world. Speaking either English or French can help you to adapt to life in Canada by making it easier to get a job, communicate with Canadians and talk with your children in the language they learn at school.

Possibility of Immigration

Students after graduation have the chance to work for up to a year and work on campus while studying. Plans are being made to allow international students to work off campus, as well faculties for married students where wife can work and children can attend school free of cost. International students with Canadian credentials and Canadian work experience may apply for permanent residency without having to leave Canada.
